ASA of North Texas Virtual Meeting coming up!
Is that time of the year when we all have to send those W-2’s and break down the numbers. COVID – 19 has hit us hard. Our numbers have been down since March, In all reality everything started in November but our shops felt the effect right before Summer ended. Winter is typically slow for some of us but this year it has been exceptionally hard.
As shop owners, we can work with a skeleton crew only for so long. Each car that comes in is a possibility to make money or acquiring this possible deadly virus. Wheel covers, sanitizers, gloves, masks, and this mental precautions we all take to keep us safe are only a few if not the most important part of our work nowadays. We are becoming too comfortable and at times even geniuses at getting to know our customers by their eyes and voice alone.
I have to tell you about this customer. She is the sweetest lady and we have not seen her in quite some time. This time she came bundled up and with two face masks. She needs an oil change today and is afraid for us to touch her car. I could only assure her of our precautions but no one can ease her fear and hesitation.
The CDC and The W.H.O have given us a list to add to our already established precautions.
Some of our employees are becoming relaxed at using these precautions which has cause some panic among our employees. It has been near a year and we are growing either comfortable with the new regulations or tired and starting to disregard human health precautions.
It is important we all are in the same page when it comes to the precautions our shops are currently following. This is our everyday truth. Our families as well as our employees are in danger every day we step in our shops. Each transaction makes us look at our essential jobs with new eyes.
2021 is around the corner and here at the ASA of NorthTexas we want to hear from everyone.
