Diesel expert Mike Cleary led two diesel engine service workshops in July to help ASA members from throughout the middle and northern parts of the state to be better equipped to service diesel vehicles in their areas. In addition to busting commonly-held myths about diesel engine operations and tech specs, Mike focused on the benefits of adding diesel engine service and repair as a regular part of their customer services package. Cleary, an award-winning, Ford-certified diesel instructor, said many shops refer the work to “diesel specialists” or just turn it away because they think diesel service is more intricate than it really is. More than 50 shop owners and techs spent two days with Mike building their knowledge and skills, as well as getting a much clearer picture of the opportunities that diesel engine service offers.
